Fingers Crossed

This is one of two additions to the family.....

Beba - Greek for baby girl
meeting her 'sisters' for the first time - and a little shy...
 Maia & Beba
 Beba & Izzy
And secondly - Thing - the funkiest cat around (why/how the name - dont ask!)
 After a big day...
Her preferred spot

I have my fingers crossed for several reasons.
1. I have had so much trouble blogging, I momentarily gave up - hoping this works.
2. These new additions are adding a challenge to our lives I knew they would bring. Its just adjusting the dynamics.
3. Im hoping my ever faithful blogger friends/community will forgive my absence.
4. My Dad has surgery this week, so Im taking Mum & Dad down to Adelaide. Mum Im taking out for high tea for her first time. We're staying at my sisters place - she has recently moved to the city after living here in the country 'forever'. So it will be good to catch up, and take our minds off Dad and hope all is ok.
Its routine and nothing serious, but you know how it is.
Hope you are all having a great week. I have so much to catch up on and if this works, the posts are drafted - on paper anyway!!
Take Care

Out of Action - Frustration

It seems my log in issue and leaving comments isnt solved as I had thought. I have left many comments only to have them not save or I am unable to log in. I have read some of your comments regarding this but they dont seem to be working with mine. As its our busy time here on the farm seeding I dont have the time to sort this as yet. So please forgive my lack (not for want of trying) of comments and posts.
My thoughts are with those who are having a difficult time at the moment personally. I have been thinking of you.
For some good news, pop on over to The White Shed to enter Letitia's gorgeous giveaway.
Enjoy your week and take care.

Kitchen Ideas

kitchen-design-ideas.org
I wish this was my kitchen. Due to a breakdown in several electrical appliances, we are looking at some changes in our kitchen. The one above is my practical choice - we have jarrah floors.

kitchen-design-ideas.org

In a world of endless $$$$ I would choose this design above

kitchen-design-ideas.org

I am loving this bench. We are looking at one of these and taking out the large table we rarely use - what do your think of island benches instead of tables??

I love the timber mouldings, the tiles and the door handles - all of it

Our oven/stove area is similar as the above pic, as is the room size and ceiling height. Im thinking the bench would be across though. Love that mantle - ours used to have one in the 1930's, so I would like to replicate it.
These are all early thoughts as we have to make some changes to the cooking area to accomodate our new stove etc by taking out some cupboards and cutting out some stone wall/tile area above the stove. We'll also be putting in a dishwasher, and some cupboards off to the right of the cooking area as in the above pic (or similar) This will take a little while, as seeding on the farm is starting, but I'll be taking lots of photos to show the changes.
Hope all of the Mums out there have a relaxing and enjoyable day on Mothers Day. Im off to lunch at my girlfirends hotel with my Mum, sister, brother and their families and my girl, Lauren.
Enjoy

New Blog

My niece Sarah has finally (just) started her new blog called 4 Little Babushkas. She is a talented woman with four girls, Olivia, Bella, Lily & Ruby. Her blog is based around the hair accessories she makes along with brooches and more. Here is a link to the facebook page for her album of photos of what she has done and may have in stock. A lot of the images are taken by Kelly, her sister in law who is a photographer...

Please pop on over if you can and make her feel welcome to the blogging world.
She is a fun and beautiful girl

Enjoy your weekend.

GIVEAWAY WINNERS

Thank you thank you for your generous and beautiful comments on my absence. So nice to know I was missed and remembered. Also a big thank you for entering my first giveaway, and to my new followers - welcomr. Its now time to draw the two giveaway winners........

I spent 20 seconds trying to work out the random generator, when it didnt happen I decided to do it the old fashioned way and draw them out of a hat - literally!!! Lifes too short to sit and work out a random whatsamacallit, so as fair as I can do it, M drew the first one from my old favorite cowgirl hat....
Seems there was a common theme in both winners!!!  THE first winner is.......

                                            Laura from Happy Homemaker UK

The second winner is is Melissa K from  Hand Made Me by Lulliloo.

Drawn by gorgeous Izzy, our Siberian Husky (I had them laid out on the floor fairly spaced out and she licked the one sitting right in the middle, then trod on them all - just like her to want you all to win!!!) Congratulations to the two girls, both living in the UK - Laura an American, Melissa an Aussie (her sister lives half an hour from me!) I will post these asap once they email me their address.
I also received my gorgeous giveaway win from Emma of  Emma Burgess, who is in Paris at the moment enjoying her gift from her generous husband. Thank you Emma I love my taste of Paris.

Enjoy your Friday.

'Start the Car' Moment & Giveaway Reminder

I recently had a 'start the car' moment when browsing through one of my local op/thrift shops. For those of you who may not have seen the IKEA ad, the lady goes to the store and looks around nervously as she makes her purchases thinking they will change their mind on the price before she gets out of the store. As she gets out to the car park, she screeches to her husband 'start the car' start the car'!!!
Thinking there wasnt much in the op shop I was about to leave, when a rack became free to look at (it was quite busy this day) so I moved in to see what was there. Flicking outfits on their hanger, my excitement grabbed me, when a wrap dress caught my eye. I felt the fabric and looked up at the brand and my body did one of those adrenaline kick rushes. I looked around nervously hoping noone was going to say 'oh sorry I made a mistake', and I tried not to rush to the checkout and calmly placed the dress on the counter. My mind was repeating 'start the car' start the car'...... I paid the $2.50!!!!! and left the store feeling like I couldnt get to the car quick enough. Whooping for joy I sang to the radio all the way home.

                                                     Here is my MaxMara  dress

The gorgeous fabric is so light and delicate and made of what is called 'tissue fabric'

I will be wearing it with these - my new wedge heel purchase - Wittner black patents on sale for $39.95!!

Love the heel look and so easy to walk in too

Dont forget to enter my giveaway here, I will be drawing it after work on Thursday 31st March.
Do you have a 'start the car' moment??
Enjoy your Sunday
